and all you choose to converse with are your cigarettes.
sometimes, my covers come alive
singing sweet tragedies
haunting love songs beckoning
but going back to the world of dreams mid day isn't practical
and i've too much acting to do yet today
so i steal a chorus of cotton
and wrap it around my newly scrubbed skin
to pretend for a moment that i will be waving farewell to this harsh set
and boarding an escape destined to more emotionally comfortable places.
where mirrors don't have guns
and reflections don't speak
where fear is but a fairytale and love has been scientifically introduced to oxygen molecules...
such places don't exist when your a fox's foot away from youth's decline
when your days are stuck on loop
and your hopes have won in a game of hide and seek.
when your hair is wet and your makeups gone
